We're seeking natural talent to join us for our selective Theatrical Triple Threat programs, where students aged 12-25 work collaboratively across song, dance and acting. Experiencing the process of creating and performing in a fully staged production.
Where Training Meets Performance
At Theatrical Academy, we create a supportive and high standard environment for performers, providing a platform for their growth and artistic development under the guidance of experienced directors, musical directors and choreographers. Participants are challenged to work at a high level, developing the consistency and commitment required in a professional rehearsal room.

We’re looking for raw talent, work ethic and passion, not just experience. Our Theatrical Triple Threat musical theatre training programs are audition-based with selective entry.
We offer two 20-week musical theatre courses specially tailored for talented teens aged 12-15 and young adults aged 18-25. Focused on developing not just performers, but artists who are prepared for the realities of musical theatre
Act
Our curriculum is designed to develop fundamental acting skills. Through engaging exercises, improvisation, and character studies, participants not only build confidence as a performer but also cultivate life skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Sing
Our musical theatre singing sessions help young performers develop strong vocal technique, stage presence and storytelling skills. From mastering the art of belting to perfecting the nuances of character-driven songs, our participants receive expert guidance.
Dance
Led by experienced instructors passionate about dance, our musical theatre dancing sessions focus on building a strong foundation in various dance styles commonly featured in musical theatre productions.

Our teaching is tailored to each student’s individual experience and goals, meeting them at their current level and helping them develop the skills and confidence to reach the next stage of their journey.
What Our Students Say
Take The Stage in End of Semester Production
Each semester culminates in professionally staged live performance. We typically produce two shows annually, with young people from both programs involved on stage, in the orchestra or band, behind the scenes and across the creative team.
In 2027 all Theatrical Triple Threat participants will take to the stage in a spectacular full scale musical production, showcasing the skills they’ve developed throughout the program.

Andrew Gyopar
Founder & Executive Producer
Andrew Gyopar is a Melbourne based theatre producer with more than a decade of experience creating large scale, audience focused musical theatre. His productions have played at major Melbourne venues including the National Theatre, earning strong audience response and critical acclaim.
His producing credits include Avenue Q, A Chorus Line, The Three Little Pigs, Mamma Mia and Once.
Andrew is also the host of Showtime with Andrew G, a podcast and digital platform featuring conversations with leading performers, creatives and entertainment figures.
Through Theatrical Academy, Andrew brings real world producing experience into the training room, giving participants direct insight into professional production.
Tahra Cannon
Academy Manager & Head of Music
Tahra Cannon is a professional Theatre Director, Music Director, Vocal Coach and Performer. A WAAPA graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theatre, Tahra brings strong industry training and practical creative experience to her work.
Her directing credits include AG Theatre’s The Three Little Pigs in 2024 and 2025, Theatrical’s acclaimed production of A Chorus Line, and Theatrical’s upcoming 2026 production of Bring It On: The Musical.
As a vocal coach with more than seven years of teaching experience, Tahra has helped students gain entry into leading institutions including WAAPA, while also music directing productions including The Book of Musicals and American Idiot.
Madi Lee
Head of Drama
Madi Lee is a Melbourne based director and choreographer working across mainstage productions, international touring and new musical development. Her credits include Razorhurst at Hayes Theatre Co, Half Time, the Australian tour of Jekyll & Hyde starring Anthony Warlow and Jemma Rix, and the Australian premiere of MILF The Musical, which she directed and choreographed.
A Sydney Theatre Award nominee for Best Choreography in a Musical, Madi’s work is driven by story, musicality and ensemble connection.
A proud queer creative, Madi is committed to creating inclusive, respectful rehearsal rooms and championing LGBTQIA+ representation within the performing arts.
Louise Panagiotidis
Head of Dance
Louise is a professional Choreographer, Teacher and Performer with extensive experience across musical theatre and dance. She trained in dance, singing and acting before completing a Certificate IV in Dance and Diploma of Musical Theatre at APO Arts Academy. She also graduated from WAAPA with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theatre and holds a Master of Teaching, specialising in Dance and Drama.
Her choreography credits include AG Theatre’s The Three Little Pigs, which earned a Green Room Award nomination, and Theatrical’s A Chorus Line, which received a Music Theatre Guild of Victoria nomination.
In 2026, Louise is choreographing Bring It On: The Musical.

Audition Workshop: $150
Theatrical Triple Threat Program Semester: 20 weeks x $155 p/w = $3100
Full payment due on or before ‘date’ 2027 and get the first two weeks FREE or $1250 Deposit due on ‘date 2027’ then 2 equal of $925 payments due on ‘date’ 2027 & ‘date’ 2027.

Selection for the program will be conducted through an audition process designed to identify people who we believe will get the most benefit from Theatrical Academy’s Triple Threat program.
Each audition is scheduled in a 10 minute time slot. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before your allocated time to allow yourself to settle in, check in and feel prepared.
Once a candidate applies for an audition, further information and specifics for the audition will be sent out in due course.
Why 20 Weeks?
We have designed a 20 week curriculum because meaningful growth happens over time. The extended format gives emerging performers the chance to build skills steadily, develop confidence and experience the rhythm of a real rehearsal and production process.
Across more than 200 hours, participants will train, rehearse, explore material, receive guidance and work towards a full production. That time matters because it allows performers to grow with consistency, form strong creative habits and develop real world rehearsal room skills. Participants learn how to perform, how to approach a role, how to take direction, how to prepare and what is expected of them when they step into a show beyond this course.
What age groups do you cater to at your singing, acting, and dancing academy?
We offer two programs. One for younger performers aged 12-15. One designed for committed young adults, generally aged between 18 and 25.

Are there any performance opportunities for people?
Absolutely! Performance is at the core of Theatrical Academy. Throughout their time with us participants work on enhancing their talents and preparing themselves to participate in a musical theatre production.
Can I join if they have no prior performing experience?
Yes, naturally talented aspiring performers of all experience levels are encouraged to audition.
Is there a dress code for classes?
We ask participants to wear black coloured comfortable clothing and appropriate shoes for each discipline are recommended. Participants are encouraged to wear their Theatrical Academy t-shirt.
I have never auditioned before. Can you help them prepare for their audition?
Yes, we run Audition Workshops from time to time.
Do you have a competition team?
No, we are focused on musical theatre performing.
What skills will I develop in your program?
Our program focuses on building confidence, teamwork, creativity, and discipline while honing singing, acting, and dancing skills.
Is there a structured curriculum for each class?

Are there opportunities for solo performances?
Yes, during the semester participants are offered the opportunity to audition for lead roles in the musical theatre production.
Are all participants cast in the musical theatre production?
Yes, all participants are encouraged to perform in the show.
What are the opportunities after the Theatrical Academy Program?
Theatrical Academy is part of The Theatrical Group. This group includes a theatre production company; Andrew G Presents and a symphony orchestra; Theatrical Symphony. We encourage graduating participants to continue their involvement with The Theatrical Group but also prepare them for performing in other community theatre and commercial productions.
What are the weekly class times during term?

How do you cater for different ages and experience levels?
Every student is coached as an individual. Our teachers tailor feedback and development to each performer’s age, experience and goals, creating an environment where everyone is challenged at the right level.
